How to express this anxiety? How to affect the audience with this feeling?
Different characters’ reaction to a room. A sound. A room where something traumatic/political has happened. “You can’t buy this feeling. You can’t sell it either.”

No matter how sure we think we are—sure that we are living, that we are in love, that we are cared for—there’s always the possibility that the wool is being pulled over our eyes: that our comforts, as we know them, are nothing but distractions from the hollow truth. And the frightening part: what force is it that’s doing this to us? And what will happen when it makes itself known?”
“what truth are you searching for? You spoke of a hollow truth.”
“That is a good question, Reverend Beck. I guess it’s the truth of this feeling in my stomach, swallowing my bones, flicking my senses, causing them to topple, making me want to scream and grab whomever is nearby and shout at them like a madman, curse them for purporting normalcy.”
